Experienced Mental Health
Welcome to my site, I'd love to tell you more about my experience and background. I received my Bachelors degree from University of Wisconsin La Crosse, WI and my Masters degree from Winona State University, MN in Community Counseling. I'm currently licensed in the state of Wisconsin as a Licensed Professional Counselor and Substance Abuse Counselor.
I have 15 years of experience working with a wide range of needs in the mental health field. Some of this experience includes working as an in-home therapist addressing complex and difficult family situations. I have continually worked with children and adolescents and use various modalities to connect through play therapy, sand tray therapy and art therapy techniques.
In addition, I have extensive experience working with substance use issues. I have worked in day treatment programs and have been an integrated provider in an abdominal transplant unit. In this position, I facilitated relapse prevention groups and worked with patients on the liver transplant wait list.
Currently, I specialize in working with ages 5-65 for mental health and substance use needs. I utilize a variety of therapeutic modalities to meet the unique needs of each person. Some of these modalities include, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy informed techniques, Solution Focused and Person Centered approaches.
I also have a special interest in working with people to improve their relationship with food and movement. I focus on use of Intuitive Eating concepts and have training with integrative nutritional approaches to aid mental wellness.
My goal is to help you cultivate a positive and compassionate relationship with yourself, fostering self-confidence and empowerment. Through personalized support and evidence-based strategies, I will guide you in overcoming self-doubt, embracing your strengths, and building resilience. You deserve to feel confident, capable, and in control of your own journey.
